Wedding Day/Trial FAQ

Do you do both hair and makeup?

Yes I offer both a wedding hair and wedding makeup mobile service however you can book me in to do just your wedding makeup if you already have your favourite hairdresser.

Are you a mobile service?

Yes! I come to you no matter the destination.

What regions do you service?

I service all of South East Queensland; Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast. I also service and have a team of makeup/hair artists who service all of Sydney including; Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs and Western Sydney along with the Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains and the Southern Highlands. However please feel free to ask if your location is not listed and we will make an assessment on a per case basis.

Do you travel nationally and internationally?

Yes! I work on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Sydney. I am also available for international weddings, offering a flexible and tailored destination service.

How far in advance do I need to book a trial?

I recommend booking anywhere from 6 months or more in advance so that you can secure the wedding date. I always take photos at the trial and fill out a face chart with all the products used. If you happen to change your mind about makeup/hair we can easily modify it on the day.

How many people can I bring with me to the wedding trial?

You are more than welcome to bring a person that you trust to help you decide (i.e. mum or sister or best friend!). I find it’s always nice to get a second opinion.

How long does a hair and makeup trial take?

A trial usually takes roughly 3hrs. I allow 1 ½ hours for wedding hair and 1 ½ hours for wedding makeup. This allows time to tweak the makeup/hair till you are 100% happy. Another trial may need to be booked should you choose to try a different hairstyle or makeup look.

What do I need to bring to a hair and makeup trial?

I always ask all my brides to bring in any images they have of makeup and hair they love. It can really help explain what type of look you are after and will help me to get an idea of the style you like. Also if you have a picture of the dress, bridesmaid’s dresses and bouquet/floral arrangements, this will give me an idea of the theme and colours used throughout the wedding and will enable me to choose the correct colour palette to compliment this.

You can check out my Instagram, Pinterest page and Facebook for inspirational images if you are finding it difficult to find pictures of hair and makeup you like.

How should I prepare my skin for my consultation?

If possible, wear no makeup or minimal makeup, as it can be hard to remove all makeup before a trial. Ideally come to your trial with a clean exfoliated and moisturised face. If you are having a hair trial as well please make sure your hair is clean and dry.

How long will my makeup application take on the day?

I always allow 45 minutes per makeup and 1 hour to be spent on the bride. I also allow 30 minutes at the end to apply lips for all the bridesmaids and for any touch ups.

Do I do hair or makeup first?

I always like to do hair first as this gives it time to set if it needs to be curled and so that your makeup compliments your hair and looks as fresh as possible before your special day!

Do you offer false eyelashes and is it extra?

Yes I offer false eyelashes either individual or strip lashes and no there is no extra cost involved.

What happens on the day?

Once we have done the trial I will discuss with you the timings on the day for example; ceremony time, how long does it take to get to the ceremony from where we are getting you ready, what time the photographer is arriving etc. I will then email through to you a schedule for the day with start times and time slots for bridesmaids hair and makeup.

Do I get my deposit back it I decided to cancel my wedding date?

Deposits are non-refundable, once your deposit has been paid you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of your quote. If someone in your wedding party cancels their service, the balance will remain the same.

Can you hold wedding dates?

No wedding date can be put on hold without a deposit. Enquiries without a deposit are considered bridal research. Due to the amount of enquiries I receive no wedding date is secured without a 20% deposit. The deposit is then deducted from your total balance.

What methods of payment do you take?

For trials cash on the day or a bank transfer prior to the trial. Payment for weddings is by bank transfer only and all balances are to be finalised 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.

Any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call or email me. I am always happy to have a chat.
